Operation of Things™

A trademarked operating model
OoTOperation of Things™

We do not just move your product. We operate it.

For thirty years the world looked for logistics partners. Operation of Things™ is the category we are building for what comes next: one dedicated team that runs the physical, regulatory and commercial operation of a product in a market you do not live in. Whether you are an international company entering the United States or a U.S. company that never wanted to build an operation, we become the arm of your business that lives here.

What OoT means

Things do not operate themselves.

Every market you enter asks the same unspoken question: who is responsible for this product once it lands? Someone has to hold the license, sign the customs bond, open the cartons, answer the phone, repair the unit and sell the next order. That is not shipping. It is operation, and until now it had no name.

The definition

Operation of Things™ (OoT) — the practice of running the physical, regulatory and commercial operation of a product inside a market on behalf of the company that owns it, as that company's dedicated extension.

Logistics ends at the dock

Most partners measure success the day a pallet is delivered. The product is on site, the invoice is sent, the relationship pauses until the next order.

Operation never ends

A device has to be registered, stored, assembled, supported, serviced, replenished and answered for. That work has no natural finish line, so it needs an owner.

So we named the owner

OoT is the discipline of taking responsibility for that whole life cycle in a market you do not occupy, under one contract and one dedicated team.

Approved DEKRA scope of services

Five service lines, audited and approved.

These are not claims on a brochure. They are the approved scope of services on our DEKRA certificate, which means an independent certification body has audited our ability to deliver each one. Ask us for the certificate and we will send it.

Newly added

Contract Manufacturing

Production, assembly, kitting and labeling to your specification, on your bill of materials, inside our licensed California facility. The newest line in our scope, and the one that closes the last gap between your factory and your customer.

Servicing

Installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, RMA processing and repair, carried out by our own technicians and a nationwide field service network.

Purchasing

We buy the components, consumables, packaging and services your operation needs, on your behalf, on your terms, and reported back to you line by line.

Logistics

Importer of record, customs clearance, inbound QA, warehousing, inventory control and fulfillment to distributors, hospitals, clinics or patients.

Sales Services

Quoting, order management, invoicing and customer care delivered as your team, in your tone of voice, under your brand and in your time zones.

Five lines, one certificate, one team answerable for all of them.

Buy one service or the entire scope. The operation underneath is the same.

Why there is no one like us

Anyone can give you a lane. We give you a department.

The difference is dedication. Everything we do for you is built around you: your product, your paperwork, your customers, your timelines. Nobody else is standing inside that work.

The usual model

  • A service provider owns one task and hands the problem back to you.
  • Shared space, shared staff, shared attention across dozens of clients.
  • You manage the partner, chase the updates and translate the gaps yourself.
  • Every new capability means a new vendor, a new contract, a new risk.

The OoT model

  • We own the outcome, across every stage the product passes through.
  • Dedicated space, dedicated trained people, and pricing built around your program.
  • We report like your own department, on your cadence, in your language.
  • Contract manufacturing, servicing, purchasing, logistics and sales in one license.
An extension of your business

Wherever you are based, we are the part of your company that lives here.

International companies

You keep your factory, your brand and your board.

We become everything you would otherwise have built six thousand miles from home: the importer of record, the license holder, the warehouse, the service desk, the sales back office. Your team stays where it belongs, in your market and in front of your customers, while ours carries the U.S. side without translation.

  • U.S. entity, licenses and bonds in place
  • Your brand in front, our operation behind it
U.S. companies

You stay focused on product and customers.

Plenty of American companies have a product that deserves a national operation and no appetite to staff, license and manage one. We take the hiring, the facility, the compliance and the customer-facing workload, and we run it as your department rather than as a supplier watching the clock.

  • No headcount, lease or compliance build-out
  • One team accountable for the whole operation
The mark
Operation of Things™

We registered the term because we believe the question is coming.

One day companies will search for an OoT partner the way they search for a logistics provider today. We invested in Operation of Things™ early so the category has a name, a standard and a clear definition, and so that the search leads somewhere real. We intend to be the measure others are held to, and we will happily explain what makes an OoT partner genuine.

Operation of Things™ is a trademark of Preferred Depot. OoT is our shorthand for it.

Start with the scope that matters to you.

Bring us the product, the market and the parts of the operation you would rather not build. We will tell you which of the five lines fit, and what the first ninety days look like.
